Learning Platform

Platform Policies & Terms

This document contains the unified terms of use, privacy notice, and content and acceptable-use policy for Learning Platform.

1. Terms of Use

These starter terms describe the intended product policy for Learning Platform. They require legal review before commercial launch and should be replaced with jurisdiction-appropriate final terms.

Creator ownership and license

Creators retain ownership of content they own in their connected Git repository and other creator-controlled sources. A creator grants the platform only the rights reasonably needed to validate, host/present, market, sell and deliver that content according to the creator's selected visibility and access settings.

Delisting, archiving or closing a creator account does not authorize the platform to delete a creator-owned external Git repository. Creators remain responsible for maintaining their own source repository and for having the rights needed to publish all code, media and course material they submit.

Marketplace, pricing and commission

Creators choose prices subject to platform-wide minimum paid-price rules. The platform may charge a disclosed percentage commission and a disclosed minimum platform fee per successful paid transaction. The applicable calculation must be visible before a creator publishes a paid offer. Free offers remain permitted unless policy changes prospectively.

If the platform creates promotional offers or coupons, the amount paid per user to the creator may vary according to the terms of the promotional offer, and creators agree to comply with platform promotional pricing adjustments and coupon campaigns.

Provider fees, taxes, refunds, disputes and chargebacks can change the amount ultimately available for creator payout. Creator earnings and payout status must be shown transparently and must not be represented as paid before settlement occurs.

Fixed-duration access and complimentary grants

Paid course and challenge access lasts for the duration shown before purchase. Payments are one-time: there is no AutoPay or automatic renewal. You may manually purchase another period. An early repurchase adds its duration after your current access ends. Progress may remain after paid access expires. Delisting or archiving does not shorten an already purchased period except for disclosed safety, legal or fraud restrictions.

Creator discounts cannot reduce payment below the applicable platform transaction fee floor. The platform owner may explicitly fund a complimentary promotion or issue an audited, expiring complimentary grant. Such grants do not create a creator sale or earning.

Refunds, disputes and learner access

Refunds and disputes may reverse or hold creator earnings. A refund or chargeback may revoke the affected access period; other valid paid periods and complimentary grants must be reconciled separately.

Marketplace health and moderation

The platform may warn, delist or archive content that fails configurable marketplace-health expectations after notice and recovery opportunities. Spam, malware, plagiarism, fraud, unlawful content, deceptive claims or serious policy violations may be restricted immediately. Marketplace-health decisions are separate from ownership of creator source content.

Connected services

Creators are responsible for access to their Git and media providers. The single platform GitHub App accesses only authorized repositories, selected per course or standalone challenge. Public repositories expose their source independently of platform visibility. Direct Git collaborators have broader repository permissions than scoped platform collaborators. Revoking a connection may limit future editing/synchronization without transferring ownership to the platform.

Interview and shared challenges

Creators and authorized collaborators may create public, premium, unlisted or private standalone challenges. A private or unlisted link does not permit publishing third-party confidential information without authorization. Client-side challenge tests are a usability feature, not a secrecy guarantee against a determined browser user.

Content groups and creator contact visibility

Creators must maintain an active, valid contact method (verified email or public URL) associated with their profile. This contact information and structured course outline hierarchies (including module groups, problem counts, and preview exercises) are displayed publicly to assist prospective learners with evaluation and course support.

In-browser runtime and computing limits

Interactive exercises and code challenges execute in-browser via sandboxed WebAssembly and virtual machine technologies on the learner's own hardware. The platform does not provide unbounded server-side computation or background execution. Using browser runtimes for cryptocurrency mining, denial of service, network scanning, or unauthorized attacks is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate termination.

Changes and termination

Material pricing, commission or lifecycle-policy changes should be communicated before they take effect where practical. Required financial, tax, fraud, audit and entitlement records may be retained after account/content removal as required to operate the service or comply with law.

2. Privacy Notice

Learning Platform collects only data needed for authentication, permissions, course access, progress, payments, payouts, security, moderation and necessary operations. This draft requires legal review.

Data minimization

Learner IDE source remains browser-local by default. Avoid detailed behavioral surveillance and unnecessary long-term logs. Aggregate marketplace-health signals where practical.

Identity and collaboration

Only platform owners and authorized administrators can access the global user directory and registered-user email exports. Creators receive course-specific progress information without platform email addresses. Creator invitations use a manually entered email and become active only after a matching verified Google login; invitation responses do not disclose registration status.

Creator contact visibility

Creator contact details (verified email or website URL) provided during profile setup are displayed to prospective learners on public course and outline pages for inquiries and support.

Connected repositories

Repository credentials/tokens are secrets. Learners never receive them. Repository content is accessed only within the creator's authorized connection and platform permissions.

Payments and payouts

The platform and payment provider process transaction and payout information needed to sell content, prevent fraud, issue refunds and settle creator earnings. Sensitive payment credentials must not be exposed to creators or learners.

Retention

Content metadata can be cleaned up after configured lifecycle periods, while financial, legal, fraud, audit and existing-entitlement records may need longer retention.

3. Content and Acceptable Use Policy

This content and acceptable-use policy governs all submitted materials, code challenges, and interactive execution environments on Learning Platform.

Not allowed

  • Spam, automated catalogue flooding or manipulation of discovery/health signals.
  • Malware, credential theft, destructive code or content intended to compromise learners.
  • Content the creator does not have the right to distribute, including unauthorized copied course/problem banks.
  • Fraudulent reviews, purchases, enrollments or bot activity intended to manipulate rankings or payouts.
  • Misrepresenting creator contact identity or attempting to bypass course-scoped collaborator permission boundaries.
  • Abusing browser execution sandboxes or virtual machine runtimes for cryptocurrency mining, network exploitation, or denial-of-service activities.
  • Unlawful, abusive or privacy-invasive material.

Enforcement

Serious safety, fraud or rights violations can be immediately hidden or suspended instead of waiting for normal marketplace-health lifecycle periods. Creators have a reasonable appeal/correction path when appropriate.
